Prepare for Summer

Everything You Need for a Great Summer

We are very excited that the season at WEHC is fast approaching. We have high hopes and expectations that this summer will be special for staff and campers alike. It’s up to all of us to make this happen!

Certification & Orientation

One priority of the WEHC Board of Directors and ours is for as many people as possible to become trained and certified in at least one, if not more, specialty areas. Priority areas for this include Archery, Sailing, Water Safety Instructor (WSI), Lifeguard and Sports. We will pay for you to take any such course before camp starts. Contact Camp for questions.

Lifeguarding Skills Course: 6/15 – 6/17
Water Safety Instructor Course: 6/18 – 6/20

Our expectation is that you will arrive at camp at the beginning of Orientation Week. This begins on Saturday, June 20 @ 8am.

These 7 days are perhaps the most fun, informative, and productive times to be at camp. We need you to be there. If you are unable to arrive at this date and time, contact camp immediately.

We have 2 big asks before June 1st

1. Please read, complete/upload all documents in your CampInTouch account

    • Pre-Camp Questionnaire
    • Submit up-to-date immunization records and evidence of a health exam within the last 12 months (Resident staff only. Documents for International visiting staff handled through your agency)
    • Health History Form

2. Please read the Staff Handbook, then take this quiz and score 80% or better on this quiz

We will review and sign the attestation on the last 2 pages together at orientation week

👉 Real-World Internship Opportunities: West End House Camp offers the Friends of West End pre-camp internship program that Senior Counselors may be able to take advantage of. Congratulations to those counselors who utilized this program and received internships. If you are interested in a possible internship, please contact Ryan Wilensky.

👉 Arriving to Camp:

  • Please reach out as early as you can if your travel plans change or if you’re going to be late for the 5pm shuttle on the day of your arrival.
  • There will be a dinner at Camp when we arrive back from the airport, and a late dinner for those who arrive by 8pm on the 19th. 
  • We’ll plan a trip to Walmart the day after your arrival so you can pickup anything you need that you couldn’t bring with you. 

 

Soon we’ll also be confidentially asking Senior Counselors for their top 4 choices of ages/cabins, as well as other preferences.
